Please join us to coordinate Premarital Services for our Muslim Community!
This workshop is for Imams, Masjid administrators, and Community Group leaders who are regularly approached by members of the Muslim community with questions about marital services, premarital counseling, and related concerns. This workshop will provide real life tools and techniques to address these concerns within the community and provide practical advice, to pass on to community members.
We recommend this workshop for anyone who guides, coaches and counsels Muslims who are
a) Seeking a spouse
b) About to marry
c) Already married & require marriage education or counseling to strengthen their marriage.
We especially want to target Imams/Khateebs/Administrators who perform Nikhas, as we believe that premarital counseling, education and coaching are a good start to building a strong marriage.
In 2008 Imam Mohamed Majid of ADAMS Center, President of ISNA and Dr. Aneesah Nadir, President of ISSA-USA facilitated a successful ISSA Premarital Services workshop in Chicago, which they will now offer in the greater Washington DC area. This day and a half workshop will be filled with the latest information on:
1) The status of Muslim marriages,
2) How to advise couples looking to marry,
3) Tools to provide a couple who is about to marry,
4) Information about ISSA’s Sakinah Healthy Marriage Initiative
5) Resources on for imams and community leaders as they advise couples.
6) Opportunity to ask questions and share experiences with others for further collaboration.
7) Opportunity to sign on to the Healthy Marriage Covenant if you haven’t already signed
We have limited space, please register ASAP for a guaranteed spot at the table.
Committed volunteers from all of the sponsor organizations have dedicated time and effort to bring you this workshop and are keeping cost down. All fees are to cover direct costs.
